Course ( MG-202 )

$750

This course should be taken after the completion of MG-101. I also recommend you complete MG-201 prior to taking this course.

There are 7 lessons in this course that explore further Rhino integration with the MatrixGold toolset. We will explore very important concepts like rebuilding curves and surfaces, which are crucial to taking your NURBS modeling to the next step.

You will also learn MatrixGold commands like Azure Cutters, Gem Override and others that will introduce you to the world of Pave.

  • Learn to Rebuild curves and why that is so important.
  • Learn the value of simple point editing and how it can greatly influence your shapes.
  • Learn to create more complex ring rails using a combination of dynamic tools including the powerful Curve From 2 Views.
  • Learn to use the amazing new Azure Cutters tool.
  • Learn to use image files to create complex 3D mesh geometry with MatrixGold’s Texture 3D command.
  • Intro to Pavé gem layouts
  • Learn when you can implement Rhino elements into your Dynamic projects.
  • Learn to use UV guides to match compound curvatures in unrolled non-developable surfaces.
  • Learn to override pavé gem locations and sizes.
  • Learn to create a repeating pattern of various gem sizes with U Pavé setting.
  • Learn the advantages of converting multiple NURBS geometry into a single smooth mesh using the QuadRemesh cmd.
  • Learn a simple but powerful method to make under galleries.
  • Learn about how Rhino History can work well with Dynamic History.
  • Learn to troubleshoot Boolean failures.
  • Learn to move SubD vertices and edges with the Gumball aligned to object.
  • Learn to use Rhino 8 ShrinkWrap command to repair, offset, smooth, and decimate a mesh.
  • Learn the power of using a Rhino curve to dynamically control geometry.
  • Learn to apply a 2D pattern on to your complex 3D surfaces.
  • Learn to rebuild a surface to control the mesh density or resolution in Texture 3D.
  • Learn to boolean SubD and Nurbs together to create new Nurb geometry.
  • Learn to use Gem View when measuring channel wall thickness.
  • Learn to match the contour of an existing ring with a Rhino control curve and CurveFrom2Views.
  • Learn to add depth to your models with a dynamic loft.
  • Learn to fill the small gaps in your layout with static prongs.
  • Learn to make a standard pavé gem layout and adjust it slightly to conform to a simple shape.
  • Learn to trim a closed mesh with individual surfaces.
  • Learn to rethink your strategy mid-project.
